Starting in 1827 as a small grocer in Edinburgh George Ballentine was supplying whiskies to his customers, over the years his business expanded and he was blending whiskies and exporting his blends all over the world. The Ballantine brand is one of the highest selling scotch whisky today. The founder’s reserve are specially selected casks with extraordinary signatures married together to create a very special expression, once opened the aromas of liquorice, citrus and toasted almonds are evident, and the palate is of coffee, sherry, citrus and chocolate with a medium long finish of salmon, vanilla, smoke and pepper.
