  Restaurant purchase with steaks at a favorite local place with a tremendous wine list. The owner/sommelier approved and observed that this wine could go another 15 years, and I would second that.

  Intense black/blue fruit (blueberry, plum, blackcurrant), sandalwood, and spice on the nose. Palate is similar, but with some tobacco, pepper, and a tiny bit of leather. Lots of cool spearmint if you give it air. Long finish. Really excellent steakhouse red.

  Savory dark fruits that are fairly well integrated at this stage. Not a small wine but a bit more restrained thanks to the vintage. For my tastes – this is a ‘drink now’ while you continue to hold some of the surrounding vintages (09, 12, 13, etc).

  Deep purple color. Blackberries in the nose with hints of licorice, earthiness and floral. Lots of black and blue fruits in the flavor, blackberries, plums, blueberries with notes of minerals. Very well balanced, nice acidity, medium to full bodied, nice complexity and a medium to long finish.

  winner winner chicken dinner!!!!! deep purple…. bountiful nose …deep fruity mouthful of flavor….6 more years in cellar really paid off……sad that it is my last 2011
