1935 Marquis de Montdidier V.S.O.P. Fine de Bourgogne, France, Magnum

£995.00

A simply splendid bottle in a Magnum and what a present!! Eau-de-Vie de Fine de Bourgogne specifically covers spirits produced from grape must within the Burgundy wine region.

Fine de Bourgogne is typically a light yellow color, with a slightly sweet and smoky taste. Delicate and fine, it is generally more subtle and less full-bodied than Marc de Bourgogne.

Description

I was lucky enough to get hold of 6 magnums of this, VSOP with no vintage. They stopped making this I think in 1956 so my mags that I have lots of experience of, would have been from a similar time frame. I sold them over the bar, and they were fabulous. More fine and delicate than Marcs de Bourgogne and a bit more like a cognac, smooth slightly sweet attractive fruit with above all a very long satisfying finish. They were brilliant and I got hold of this bottle on the back of my experience!!
