For Australia, 1994 was an excellent year.
The summer was cool and dry or most of Australia. The Upper Hunter Valley did suffer from bushfires, which damaged some vines. However, as much of Australia was cooler than normal, wines tended to be lighter on alcohol but were still rich and fruit-forward.
The vintage produced a bounty of excellent wines from Shiraz to Cabernet. Most regions excelled and there is likely something for every taste.
Many of the top wines will still be drinking well today.
