A firm, dry wine, very upright and elegant. It has power, but it’s the initially austere perfumes that dominate. Dried currants go with black plum skins and definite tannins.
2000 Vintage Tasted: Jan 2007
Floral, plum, licorice, spicy, prune, peppery, dried fig, chocolate, mace aromas. Ripe, round, elegant and somewhat sweet with light tannins. Peppery, spicy, licorice, black tea, clove, nutty, black cherry, prune flavours. Consistent well made style that is just a bit sweeter and creamier with some warmth at the end.
