Description

Critic tasting note: (2010 vintage) “Corton-Charlemagne has produced a powerful and concentrated wine. The massive, opulent feel is balanced by tropical fruits and acids, which are layered between the toast and spice notes. It needs many years to mature.” – Wine Enthusiast

Solid showing; not oxidized. A tad bid austere at first, but was quite charming. Need some air to get going. Good richness and weight balanced by elegant acidity.

This was fantastic this evening , opened beautifully in the glass over the course of a couple of hours, lemon curd, great deep golden color, fantastic persistence. Great bottle.

Wow, that’s tasty! Medium deep gold, quite a big, enticing nose. Palate is excellent, drinking perfectly, aged but not oxidized. Balanced and long. Smooth but excellent acidity. Long, long finish. The pedigree really shows. Brioche and roasted lemon. Oak nicely in check. Delish.

This has developed into a magnificent wine, and it really endorses why Corton-Charlemagne suit aging. It is beautifully fruited with a buttery palate, but at the same the precision is faultless. Any flabby notes detected earlier in it’s youth have dissapated.

Sadly just a bit more advance than a couple of previous bottles that were absolutely stunning. Still had all the stuff that I want in an aged white burg. Lots of complexity and length. Just on the borderline of premox. Or maybe this was just stored at room temperature for a bit too long. Either way. Still completely drinkable but this wine can be much better than this.

Dinner celebration at Bymark. Did not take detailed notes. Drank from a magnum. Medium gold. Citrus, apple and yellow plum notes. Palate is intense, great acidity and balance. Long finish.

This is my first bottle for 4 years, and it is now at the top of its game, and I will probably look to consume my remaining bottles over the last 3 years. I am always fearful of premox with Louis Jadot whites. This is a stellar wine, and can match any brand Burgundy. Packed with citrus and lemon peel, with honeysuckle and hints of vanilla, the balance is impeccable. Likewise the finish is excellent with gravel and seashore lingering on the palate with perfect precision.
