  I’m not assigning a rating because this wine is technically past its prime, but I still detected some life tonight. Still has good structure with right level of tannins and slight acidity. The sweetness is faint though. Aroma is great of wet forest floor with hints of a freshly rolled cigar. Lots of sediment in the bottle, so I had to let it sit before drinking. The cork was completely disintegrated, couldn’t even be pulled with a screw pull. This was a 750 ml bottle. I will bet a magnum will probably be pleasant to drink. Nonetheless, it was a good drink.

  Into neck fill. Slightly browning but not much bricking. A tablespoon of sediment. Silky smooth. 3 hours in the decanter blew of the modest funk. Light tobacco and leather on the nose. The same on the palate with hints of dark fruits underneath. A somewhat simple wine but not too thin. Another 90 minutes to drink and the wine never changed throughout. +1 point for ageworthiness
