A lovely bottle, levels are very top shoulder or into the neck depending on your judgement!! Good recent tastings, Cos does age extremely well. I have 5 all together so do make an offer!!

Happy Bordeaux Sunday Dear Friends!
👁️ Ruby with a brown rim
👃 and 👄: tar, cured meats, black currant, black tea, minimal tannins, good acidity freshness; is this magnum still fresh! So glad I have many more of this for us special vintage! There are some ripe tomato notes which give away the age, but I would have never guessed this right blind!
Perfectly stored Magnums like this, make this a 50+ year wine without question! Producer trumps vintage!

First of two bottles, both by Pratt and imported by Julius Wile Sons & Co. We drank the one with the lowest fill first, thinking it may not be in great shape. Fill was low neck. The cork was saturated, but had not leaked. It was still fairly tight in the bottle. Used a Durand to remove it and then decanted off the sediment.
The color is very translucent garnet with some definite bricking on the edges. On the nose, fully mature cabernet and merlot notes; boysenberry, iodine, a hint of chocolate, and cooked beets. The tannins are fully resolved and velvety. Amazing acidity – like really exceptional. A very pleasant, lingering finish.
This pair exceptionally well with Burrata, dry aged steaks, and roasted veggies. The wine barely developed over the 2+ hours we drank it, so it seems like it has a few more years left to live. That said, it’s in a great spot so probably best to just drink up!

Loose cork, which fell in the bottle when trying to remove it. Probably an indication for its shape; a hint of primary fruit left (plum, blackberry) but mostly tertiary umami notes. Still nice to drink, but definitely (way) past its peak

Soft and fully mature with just a hint of sweet fruit left. Very tertiary notes of Asian spices and tobacco on the fairly complex finish. Very good aged Claret but time to drink up.

Tasted blind. Seemed much younger than its age, I couldn’t believe it when the year was revealed. Velvety texture, some green bell peppers initially, which were replaced by more earthy tones and lashes of red plums with a nice acidity. It was only showing its age after half an hour in the glass as it started to lose grip and exhibit tertiary notes. Still, a triumph.
