1975 Chateau Latour a Pomerol, Pomerol, France

£145.00

A bottle with decent levels of this fabulous wine. The cork is depressed though and the foil has a hole above the cork.

Although it has entered the stage of complete evolution, it still needs to be decanted, and the aroma dominated by red fruits and tobacco gradually blooms, showing the unique charm of old Bordeaux in the 1970s. Due to the average acidity, the whole wine has some tannin bitterness that is difficult to ignore. It’s time to drink it.

Very little bricking, loads of sweet strawberry and raspberry on the front. Sour cherry earth, tobacco. Incredible. Amazing Provenance, delicious.

Still very drinkable. Holding up pretty strong. Drinking well. At a good spot. Of course a tertiary bottle. Can age further.

Round and complete with soft pepper and violet notes with fully mature dark fruit. Missing just a little bit of definition on the edges and energy on the finish. 92-93
