Description

Domaine Faiveley’s Clos des Cortons Grand Cru is a true expression of the Corton terroir, showcasing the artistry of both the vineyard and the winemaker. It is a wine of finesse, structure, and longevity, representing the best of Burgundy’s winemaking traditions.
Domaine Faiveley
Domaine Faiveley is a family wine producer and négociant in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Established by Pierre Faiveley in 1825, initially as a wine merchant, today Faiveley produces their own wines and is also négociants buying wine and fruit from other producers and growers. The domaine is run by 7th generation Erwan Faiveley and the estate now owns 120 ha of vineyards throughout Burgundy. They have 10 ha of Grand Cru vineyard parcels including Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Clos de Vougeot, and Echezeaux among others. Many parcels are less than 1 ha yielding only tiny quantities of wines. Domaine Faiveley also has 25 ha of Premier Cru vineyards spread through the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.
And a recent tasting!!!

5/18/2024 – PGIF LIKES THIS WINE:93 Points

Very pleasant surprise, since my last bottle about 4 years ago was tannic and sullen. Still a deep, dark, somewhat somber wine but the tannin has begun to integrate and the fruit is prominent and rich. Aromatically clean and inviting. Plenty of upside still.
