1937 Chateau Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan, France

£895.00

This is obviously a very old lady with well faded labels, however you can still see the Chateau and the vintage as shown, the levels are a decent mid shoulder.

Description

Haut Brion as a first growth does have an extraordinary ability to age and I recently drank a 1942 that was still showing very well. A recent tasting from cellar tracker gives hope, but as ever their is no guarantee!!

Bottle with respectable level and as authentically looking as we could hope for. This showed very nicely – a slight hint of oxidation disappeared quickly and gave way to a lovely wine. Held up well for an hour and after that it started to decline slowly, with iodine aromas taking over.
