1971 Domaine Isabelle Doudet-Naudin Les Guettes, Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru, France

£125.00

A lovely bottle of Les Guettes that has good recent tasting notes at a sensible price.

Description

Aux Guettes (or Clos des Guettes) is a Savigny-lès-Beaune premier cru vineyard in the Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy. It is planted mainly to Pinot Noir, with a small amount of Chardonnay also produced at the site

Location

The Savigny-lès-Beaune premier cru vineyards are located in two distinct groups. One is on the south facing hillside almost just along (southwest) from the hill of Corton, the other on the opposite, east-facing, slopes of the Mont Battois, between Beaune and Savigny.

The 13.5-hectare (33.3-acre) Aux Guettes is one of the former. It is situated immediately east of Savigny-lès-Beaune village – it is the westernmost of the line of premiers crus on the south-facing hillside (although it is a long vineyard and, at the top of the slope, overlooks both the Aux Clous and Aux Serpentières premiers crus lower on the hill).
