The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Maturing color, aged Burgundy aromas (this was the oldest red at the tasting). Medium weight. Sweet dark red fruit, moderate oak, and a dash of soil. Roundly tannic and the wood lingers through the finish. This has held up very well and is really attractive. I just wish the wood regimen had been less heavy handed.

Excellent. Clear strong nose of red fruit, earthiness, married to a similar complex palate of more red raspberry, earthy, spices. Long, with a well balanced finish. Overall strong in every area, extremely well balanced throughout. Reflects the vintage (fruit now!) but mature soft texture and strutting it’s stuff. Gotta look for more Tollot Beaut (or is it the vintage?).

Consistent with earlier note. Very good and drinking nicely at this point with secondary/tertiary sous bois flavours. In great balance with its bright powerful fruit and the soft tannins.

Great wine that is in a very good spot now but still with many years ahead of it. Good powerful Corton fruit with red and dark berries, secondary flavour complexities with some sous bois and fine resolved tannins. Just a treat to drink.

Love by all at Home restaurant in soquel. Perfect with fried chicken and pastas.
