Still quite youthful, good but unremarkable.

Clear medium garnet color. Prunes, blueberries, on the nose with red berry notes. Great.

I don’t review many wines, but I’ve had a couple bottles of this wine lately (I bought a case en primeur), while this wine does not have the fruit it once did, it is still a GREAT drinking wine! Smooth, rich, lovely, NO bite whatsoever.
It drinks like a classic. If you have some, do yourself a favor and make an excuse to drink it. It’s obviously not going to last forever.
I popped the cork, double decanted and served immediately, perfect.
I think the rest of my bottles won’t last long!!6/23/2021 – tbone wrote:
Held in cellar since release and finally popped first bottle after seeing favorable write ups here – ready to go now in my opinion. Not a blockbuster but a very nice claret in a traditional style. Good deal at <$20 at release.

Russk. Pablo brought to CDC at Villagio. My WOTN. 2nd time I have enjoyed this wine in 2 months. I agree with BHRH below.

Sweet fruit leather in aroma and smoky oak. This beauty seemed to be on the downhill portion of its peak. Delicate finish, no harsh tannins on the finish. Flavors of musty basement/minerals , savory, thick earthy flavors, and mellowed out dried fruit. Cork totally intact and easily removed with a corkscrew.
We opened two wines from 2000 for my daughters 21st birthday and this one was her favorite!10/7/2020 – seijaro Likes this wine:93 Points
Wow, best bottle yet! I think the secret is only 30 minutes of air… it began to fade a bit after an hour. At its peak, it was a fully mature Cab with plenty of flavor and no tannin, a real pleasure.
